JANE ALLEN

Jane is the author of the successful biography of Pier Angeli, a fragile life. She had a varied career in the arts, studying at the Chelsea Polytechnic in London and working in galleries in Sydney for many years. She holds a BA and and MPhil (Psychology) from Sydney University.

It was the pleasure of writing her Master's thesis that led to the first book, and she has devoted the past sixteen years to writing.
Pier Angeli was followed by A Walk through Blue Poppies, the letters of Eric Shipton to Margaret Bradshaw 1934-1974, a book of children's stories, an opera libretto (a work in progress) and now The Judge's Cat, a novel of Victorian family life based on her own family.

Jane lives in Australia. Her passions include travel, opera, modern architecture, food and tigers. She has a son, grandchildren and a Siamese cat called Diva.
